Electrification

Electrification refers to the process of replacing technologies that rely on fossil fuels such as gasoline, natural gas, or propane. This includes areas like transportation (electric vehicles), heating and cooling (electric heat pumps), and solar. RPU supports electrification through programs that make it easier for customers to adopt these technologies, such as electric vehicle (EV) initiatives that encourage charging infrastructure and EV adoption. At the same time, RPU’s solar interconnection program enables customers to generate their own renewable electricity but also promotes cleaner energy, enhances grid modernization, and helps the community move towards a more sustainable energy future.
