The following are special rates for qualified commercial and industrial customers.

Interruptible Rate is a way for commercial and industrial customers to save on their electric utility bill while helping RPU shed load during peak periods, most often during the Minnesota summers.

Time of Use Rate is available to commercial and industrial customers interested in saving money on their utility bill by using energy during off-peak hours.

High Efficiency HVAC Rate is available to commercial and industrial customers that meet the requirements below:

• Use either an air-source or ground-source heat pump as the only source of heating and cooling in their facility.
• Use an electric water heater (usually connected to a desuperheater on the heat pump) as the only source of water heating.
• Receive prior approval of the equipment from RPU. Note that equipment must be rated by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and meet the minimum efficiency standards.
