RPU TO PRESENT STUDY RESULTS MARCH 29
Data will be used to move forward with power supply planning

ROCHESTER, Minn—RPU and its commissioned consultants, Burns & McDonnell of Kansas City, Mo. and Utility Engineering of Minneapolis, on March 29 will publicly present an overview of the results of five recently-completed studies related to power supply planning. The presentation will be at 7 p.m. at RPU’s Service Center Community Room at 4000 East River Road NE, Rochester.

The meeting is open to the public. An open question period will follow the presentation.

These studies are part of the overall power supply and environmental options assessment that RPU outlined to the utility board and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) in December 2003. The studies include: Phases 2 and 3 of infrastructure planning, a fuel options study, a site feasibility study of Silver Lake Power Plant (SLP) for installing addition pollution control equipment and emissions testing results.

This data and research will assist RPU in planning and decision-making for future power supply options.

A quorum of the utility board may be present at this meeting, though no action will be taken by the board regarding the studies or any other business.
