RPU puts over $52,000 back in the pocket
of the Rochester Public School District
ROCHESTER, MN— Rochester Public Utilities
(RPU) presented the Rochester Public School District
with a rebate check of over $52,000 at last night’s
school board meeting for installing energy efficient
equipment at two district buildings through RPU’s
Conserve & Save rebate program in 2006.
The two projects that RPU and the Rochester Public
School District partnered on were both lighting
projects that included the installation of energy
efficient lighting at John Marshall High School
and the Edison Building. Both projects included
installing new energy efficient fixtures and bulbs.
The new lighting will have a longer bulb life and
will yield on-going energy savings for the district.
By partnering with RPU, the Rochester Public School
District will save over approximately 500,000 KWh
annually on the lighting project at John Marshall
High School alone.

“The rebate check is just the beginning of
the savings that the Rochester Public School District
will see. The district will see energy savings each
year now that they have installed new state-of-the-art,
energy efficient lighting in the two buildings,
said Jan Blevins, RPU Sales Specialist.
RPU’s Conserve & Save rebate program
is available to both residential and commercial
customers that make qualifying energy efficient
upgrades. Qualifying upgrades include Energy Star®
appliances, lighting, geothermal heat pumps, and
air source heat pumps. A complete list of qualifying
purchases can be found on the RPU web site www.rpu.org.
