AU, OPU, and RPU ANNOUNCE END OF DISHWASHER,
REFRIGERATOR REBATES
Utilities Encourage Customers to Continue
to Save Money, Energy
ROCHESTER, Minn.—Effective June 30, the
dishwasher and refrigerator rebates offered
by Austin, Owatonna, and Rochester Public Utilities
(AU, OPU, and RPU) will end.
The utilities, through a customer survey and
dealer relationships, determined customers’
desire to purchase ENERGY STAR® dishwashers
and refrigerators is not influenced by the $25
rebates. Customers upgrade to ENERGY STAR appliances
based on projected energy savings and payback.
Customers of AU, OPU, and RPU may purchase ENERGY
STAR dishwashers and refrigerators through the
end of June to qualify for the rebate. The rebate
application must be submitted by March 31, 2006.
All other rebates remain in force through December
2005, or while funds last. For a complete listing

AU, OPU, and RPU are municipal utilities serving
their respective communities in Southeast Minnesota
with electric, gas and water service (gas service
is not available in Rochester). Their two-year-old
