ROCHESTER , MN —There will be a planned electrical outage in the Northern Heights neighborhood on the morning of Friday, December 30 th starting at 8:30am lasting until approximately 12:30pm. Approximately 500 customers will be affected.

Due to woodpecker damage, a utility pole in a wooded area of the neighborhood needs to be replaced. The damage makes it dangerous for RPU workers to maintain the service on the pole and it makes the pole and service susceptible to bad weather conditions. The work is being done as a proactive measure at this time. A shorter planned outage is safer than an unexpected outage which could potentially be longer in duration.
