Maintenance Work Scheduled for Lake Zumbro
Hydro
ROCHESTER, MN—Maintenance work on the
Lake Zumbro hydro is scheduled to begin on
Monday, October 23 and will take approximately
3 days to complete. During this time, both
hydro generators will be offline and the lake
level will be drawn down to approximately
919 feet dam datum prior to the work starting
on October 23.
The work scheduled to be completed includes
electric relay work, general cleaning of the
facility, and cleaning of the trash gates
on the dam by a certified diver. In order
for this work to be done safely, the water
level will be lowered. The drawdown of water
will be done in accordance with the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission and the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources. Water flow
will remain through the minimum flow gate
in the dam during this maintenance work.
Please use caution when in and around Lake
Zumbro during this scheduled maintenance period.
Real-time lake level information, along with
Lake Zumbro hydro updates are available on
the RPU web site (www.rpu.org).
