RPU sponsors local ASHRAE event

ROCHESTER, MN. — Rochester Public Utilities
(RPU) sponsored the local American Society
of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning
Engineers (ASHRAE) golf event that was held
on August 3 at Willow Creek Golf Course. Through
working closely with ASHRAE and supporting
the organization's goals to improve energy
conservation and to promote the use of new
technology in HVAC&R, RPU can make great
strides in reducing the need for new generation,
improving local air quality, and being more
energy efficient.
"By being a part of ASHRAE events, we
can strengthening our relationship with local
HVAC contractors and ASHRAE members to help
the city of Rochester save energy and to help
the local businesses save money through RPU's
Conserve & Save rebate program,"
said Stephanie Yrjo, RPU commericial account
representative. To date for 2006, our efforts
in energy conservation have saved over 2.4
million kWh (kilowatt hours).
