2007 schedule of Community Education classes that focus on energy issues and technology

Solar Systems: Options, Economics and Rebates for Homeowners- Everything you wanted to know about solar and more. An overview of different heating and electric solar systems will be covered along with their costs and expected energy savings. Find out what to look for when purchasing equipment, selecting contractors and dealing with code issues. Additionally, the MN State rebate, utility contracts and the new 30% Federal tax credit will be explained.
The presentation will be loosely formatted to allow specific questions to be answered. Mario Monesterio with Best Power Intl. has over 25 years of experience in the solar industry in Minnesota.

Basics of Geothermal Heating and Cooling- Whether you are building a new home or considering a new heating and cooling system for your present one, consider the economical and environmental advantages of geothermal technology. Geothermal systems conserve energy by collecting heat from the earth to heat your home and water; the process is reversed in the summer to provide extremely efficient air conditioning.
Learn about the different types of geothermal systems available and get the information you need to determine if it is the right solution for you. The course will provide information about what to look for when purchasing equipment, installation considerations, and financial analysis. Information about Rochester Public Utilities incentive programs will also be presented.
